Radcam, flag7x & PhotonCam: Camera Apps Unlocked

Four cameras arrived in the catalogue this week, and three of them want the look baked in when you press the shutter, not added later in an editor: VHS tape and disposable film, a Canon compact with the flash on, the soft colour of an old phone. The fourth goes the other way and hands you RAW and manual controls. All four are free to download and then put a watermark or a paywall between you and the good part. In these builds the plan is already paid. No subscriptions, no waiting: download any of them as an IPA and install on your iPhone in one tap, no PC and no developer account of your own.

radcam is the veteran of the week. Going Merry LLC put it on the App Store in February 2016, and its roots are in VHS: one of its in-app plans is still called “Rad VHS Cam Pro”. It has since grown into a general retro camera with more than 39,000 ratings averaging 4.5 and, by the developer’s count, over 10 million users. You can shoot through the live camera with a preset already on — film tones, VHS lines, grain, dust and light leaks — or bring in a photo you took earlier and run it through the same library of 60-plus presets. Frames styled after Kodak prints, disposable cameras, 35mm and Polaroids finish the picture. The paid side is a tangle of plans, from $3.99 a week to $39.99 a year.

What’s unlocked: the subscription in version 6.6.16, so the paid presets and features are open. The App Store also sells credit packs as a separate purchase; the build notes don’t mention them, so don’t count on those.

flag7x

The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III came out in 2019 and turned into TikTok’s favourite compact: Canon raised production, and the camera is still hard to find at list price, with used ones going for close to twice the new cost. Its look — a face lit hard by direct flash, punchy colour, a background that falls away — is what flag7x chases on the phone you already have. Ranjha, Inc. released it in June 2025, and it is careful to say it has nothing to do with Canon. There are no sliders to fiddle with: it processes the shot with its own colour profiles and tone curves, with picture styles (including black and white and film-inspired looks), a digicam date stamp and burst mode on top. Rated 4.6 from about 190 ratings. The free version marks every photo and video with a watermark; Pro is what removes it.

What’s unlocked: the subscription in version 3.5.4, so flag7x Pro is on. One limit the build can’t lift: multi-capture, which shoots several colour modes and styles at once, needs an iPhone with 8 GB of RAM or more.

PhotonCam

PhotonCam is the one for people who want control instead of a preset. It comes from a developer who publishes as JuniperPhoton, has been on the App Store since January 2024 and also runs on iPad and Mac. On capable iPhones it shoots ProRAW at 48 MP, with manual controls, Live Photos and Portrait mode, and keeps HDR intact from capture through editing. The editor goes much deeper than a filter app: Camera Raw-style light and colour grading, a Frame Workshop for designing your own borders, and LUT import, so a look you built in Photoshop or Lightroom on a desktop can become a filter you shoot with. Version 2.0, out on 16 October, adds a customisable starburst effect and curves. Without a plan the app runs in a trial mode that stamps a watermark on every saved photo. It needs iOS 18.1 or later, and the developer has warned that iOS 18 support will be dropped soon.

What’s unlocked: the subscription in version 2.0.0, so the full camera and editor work without the trial-mode watermark.

FeelmCamera

FeelmCamera GET

FeelmCamera is the youngest app here: a camera from JayApp, released in March 2026. It does one thing — show you a film filter live in the viewfinder, so you pick the mood before the shot, not after. Alongside the film looks there is a set inspired by older phone cameras, with softer colour and gentler contrast, and each filter comes with a note on the mood it gives and the scenes it suits. You can dial the strength down, reprocess a photo from your library as a new copy, and since version 3.0 open it straight from the Lock Screen, Control Center, the Action button or Camera Control. The free tier covers the basic films; Feelm Plus ($1.99 a month, $11.99 a year or $29.99 lifetime) adds the premium films, the film-camera date stamp and camera skins, and removes the small Feelm mark. It requires iOS 26 or later.

What’s unlocked: the subscription in version 3.0.2, so Feelm Plus is active without the in-app paywall.

How to install

All four install from builds.io like a normal App Store download — tap GET, install, open. No PC, and no developer account of your own to keep alive. When you add a new device, Apple runs a one-time “processing” step: most devices are ready within a day, and some take up to three days while Apple works through them. It happens once, and every install after that is instant.

Last week’s new arrivals were led by seventeen Instagram tweaks in one app — Moe Multi, YouTube r3yt and EWA. If the digicam look is what you’re after, ProCCD sits in the photo section of our list of paid iPhone apps with the subscription already on.
