Why Enable Developer Mode?
If you’re looking to sideload apps on your iPhone, Apple requires you to explicitly activate Developer Mode. This security measure ensures that users acknowledge the potential risks and commit to «developer-like» actions before proceeding. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered with an easy walkthrough!
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Locate Developer Mode
- Open your iPhone’s Settings.
- Navigate to Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down and tap Developer Mode.

Note: If you don’t see Developer Mode in your settings, don’t panic! It simply means you need to trigger a developer-like action first (see Step 3).
Step 2: Enable Developer Mode
- Toggle the Developer Mode switch on.
- A warning alert will appear about reduced security. Tap Restart to confirm.
- After your device restarts, you’ll be prompted to confirm enabling Developer Mode again. Tap Turn On and enter your device passcode to proceed.
Step 3: What If Developer Mode Is Missing?
If Developer Mode doesn’t show up in Settings, you’ll need to:
- Open the BuildStore Catalog and choose an app you’d like to sideload. Please note that you should have an active subscription and a iDevice in an active status to do that.
- You may use any other sideloading service of your preference.
- Tap Get, wait for the app to process, then tap Install.
- When iOS prompts an alert about Developer Mode, return to the Step 1. Developer Mode will now appear in your settings.
This step serves as a «developer-like action,» signaling iOS to reveal the Developer Mode option.
