What is Moshi?

Moshi is made by Moshi Tech Ltd. and sits in the Developer Tools section of the App Store. The idea is narrow and practical: a terminal client for people who run AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot or Aider on a remote machine and want to follow along from a phone. Its App Store title also points at herdr and tmux, the multiplexers many people use to keep agent sessions alive.

Connections run over SSH or Mosh. Mosh is the part that matters on a phone, because a session survives a switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, a sleeping screen or a ride through a tunnel, and you return to the same prompt you left. When you background the app, the terminal state is saved and waiting when you come back.

Typing long prompts on glass is slow, so Moshi adds voice input. Speech is recognised by a Whisper model that runs on the device itself, which means dictated commands are not sent to a cloud service. For work that takes a while, you can wire up webhook alerts and get a push notification when a task finishes instead of watching the screen.

What the Moshi tweak unlocks

• Voice-to-terminal dictation with on-device speech recognition
• Persistent Mosh sessions that keep running through network drops
• SSH private keys kept in the iOS Keychain and released by Face ID or Touch ID

• Webhook notifications that tell you when a long job has completed

Version, requirements and recent changes

The changelog for this build says the subscription is unlocked in an updated IPA that covers both iPhone and iPad. The original app is free to download from the App Store, it first appeared there in January 2026, and it asks for iOS 18.0 or newer, so older phones are out.

The latest store notes list a long run of additions: usage widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen, a font choice for Chat View, branch pull request and CI status inside chat, a Branches tab in the code panel, Git pull, push and fetch from the sidebar, expandable folder trees in Files, and a settings screen reorganised around agents.
