What is Hydrofy?

The App Store lists it as Hydrofy: Hydroponic Plant Care, built by the individual developer Merek Barrett. It is in Lifestyle with Utilities as a second genre, rated 4+, and it has been available since September 2025. The store pitch is a personal assistant for home hydroponics, aimed at growers who run one to five systems.

Care is organised around reminders. The app schedules prompts for swapping water, feeding nutrients, correcting pH, trimming, checking on the plants and picking the harvest, and the schedule adapts to how you actually work. Each plant has its own profile, so you can follow it from seed to harvest, attach photos and notes, record health issues and compare harvest results.

The monitoring side is where hydroponics differs from soil. You log pH, EC/TDS, water temperature, light and humidity, along with nutrient additions and water changes, and templates make repeat entries fast. Charts then show pH stability and nutrient trends, and a dashboard gathers today's tasks and system status. A built-in library of more than 25 hydroponic-friendly plants, such as lettuce, basil, kale, tomatoes and peppers, suggests growth stages. The store names DWC, NFT, Kratky, Drip and Aeroponics as supported system types, so the app fits both beginners learning nutrient cycles and hobbyists with several setups.
