EQP-1A is based on the classic Program Equalizer from the 1960s, highly regarded for its distinctive ability to both boost and cut the same frequencies simultaneously, creating a resonant shelving effect. This plug-in meticulously models the robust transformers and complex tube amplifier circuits found in the original analog hardware, resulting in a rich and dynamic sound.

Designed primarily for broadband equalization, the EQP-1A offers 4 low boost/cut frequencies, 3 high-cut frequencies, and 7 high-frequency boost points, complemented by a bandwidth control specifically for shaping the high boost curve. MEQ-5 is inspired by the Classic Mid-Range Equalizer from the 1970s, featuring two bands for midrange boost and one for midrange cut. The ear is most sensitive to this band, so subtle adjustments here can dramatically improve the clarity and impact of a mix.
