What is Level Read?

The App Store lists the app as Level Read: Daily English News, published by 晓峰 操 under Education. It is a graded English news app: every article comes in three versions, aligned with the CEFR scale, so you can start with the one you understand and move up when it feels comfortable. The app has been available since June 2025 and is free to download.

Reading is only part of each article. Audio playback lets you read and listen together, and tapping a word looks it up, so a hard term does not stop you for long. A quick quiz of about a minute checks comprehension, and words worth keeping go into a Word Book that you can revisit later. Statistics track your reading time, the number of articles and the words learned, and a streak counter rewards daily use.

The store page names two audiences: ESL learners who want reading and listening on real news, and people preparing for exams such as IELTS or TOEFL who need regular input. Its philosophy is gentle, that one story a day is enough, and vocabulary is learned in context rather than from isolated word lists.
