TrollStore on iOS 26: the honest answer

There is no TrollStore for iOS 26, and there will not be one. This is not a “not yet” — it is a closed door, and it is worth knowing exactly why before you spend an evening looking for a download.

Where the ceiling is. TrollStore supports iOS 14.0 through 16.6.1, plus 16.7 RC and 17.0. That is the whole list.

What closed it. TrollStore stands on a CoreTrust signature-validation bug (CVE-2023-41991). Apple patched it in iOS 17.0.1 and 16.7 — every release after that validates signatures properly, so the trick that made TrollStore possible simply does not land. Apple then added a second lock in iOS 17.6 and 18.0: a process that is not already running as root can no longer spawn one, which would break TrollStore’s helper even if another CoreTrust bug turned up tomorrow.

And you cannot go back. Apple stops signing older iOS builds within weeks of a release. Once your device is on 26, downgrading to 17.0 is not something a guide can fix — the signing window is closed.

So if you are on iOS 26 and you want apps outside the App Store, TrollStore is not the tool. Something else has to be.

What the “TrollStore for iOS 26” sites are actually selling

Search that phrase and you will find download buttons, version numbers that look official — 26.1, 26.2 — and step-by-step guides. None of them can be what they claim, because the exploit underneath is patched. What is behind those buttons is one of three things:

  • A different app wearing the name — usually a signing tool that needs its own certificate, which is a completely different thing with completely different limits.
  • A certificate you are paying to share with thousands of strangers, which goes dark the day Apple revokes it. We went through those red flags in certificate scams and what to watch for.
  • An install profile that collects something and installs nothing.

The tell is simple: TrollStore has one home, opa334’s GitHub repository, and it says the same thing this article does about supported versions. A site promising more than the developer does is not being generous.
