PixelMe: AI Pixel Art Camera now has the subscription unlocked in this updated IPA for iPhone and iOS, so premium features are available without paying.

PixelMe converts a photo into 8-bit pixel art, and on this page you can download the PixelMe IPA for iPhone with its paid subscription already unlocked. The same build covers iPad, according to the changelog.

What is PixelMe?

The App Store lists the app as AI Pixel Art Camera - PixelMe. It was made by Kazuya Saito, sits in Graphics and Design, and has been available since February 2021. The pitch is a two-stage workflow: first an AI model studies your picture and produces a pixel-art base automatically, then you take over and correct it by hand. The developer contrasts this with ordinary filters, which only shrink the resolution and leave you with a blocky copy of the original.

The editor is deliberately simple. You move a cursor over the canvas, tap to draw or erase, pick colours with a colour picker and zoom in to place single dots precisely. Resolution and level of detail can be adjusted to suit your own style. Typical uses named by the developer are profile pictures for Twitter, Instagram, Discord and TikTok, retro game assets, and general digital art made from selfies, portraits and landscapes.

Compared with a one-tap pixelate filter, the benefit is control. The AI gives you a starting grid within seconds, and every dot after that is yours to move, recolour or erase, which is why the store compares the result to dot art drawn by a pixel artist rather than a shrunken photo.

When the piece is done you export it in high quality, send it straight to a social network or keep it in the camera roll.
