About Cubasis 3

Cubasis 3 - DAW & Music Studio comes from Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH and is listed in the Music section of the App Store. It is a digital audio workstation for audio and MIDI, built for capturing a musical idea the moment it arrives and shaping it into a song. The store lists awards from 2020 such as the Computer Music Editor's Choice and the MusicTech Choice Award, and a NAMM TEC Awards 2026 finalist mention.

What makes version 3 notable is that it runs on iPhone as well as iPad. Features named by the developer include tempo and signature tracks, group tracks, a mixer that can fill the screen, a revised MediaBay for files and projects, undo with a history list and UI scale presets for both device sizes. On the audio side there are eight insert and eight send effects, plug-in rearrangement, 75 effect presets and MicroSonic instruments.

The technical highlights are generous: track counts are not capped for either audio or MIDI, the engine works in 32-bit floating point, audio resolution goes up to 24-bit at 96 kHz, and you can route 24 physical inputs and outputs. Real-time time-stretching and pitch-shifting are included, which helps when loops come from different tempos.
