What is BabyWeather?

BabyWeather is a small lifestyle and weather app from the Hungarian studio BitRaptors Informatikai KFT, on the App Store since April 2018. It is written for parents, and especially first-time parents, who feel unsure about dressing a baby for the day outside.

The logic is straightforward. The app looks at both the real air temperature and the feels-like temperature, then turns the two numbers into a plain clothing suggestion. Using both readings, rather than the raw temperature alone, is the point of a tool built for this one job.

An hourly forecast covers the next twelve hours, so you can pick a good moment for a walk or an outing and see when the weather turns. If you have more than one child, multiple profiles let you keep, for example, siblings of different ages in the same app. Colours can be customised, the interface stays simple, and the app speaks English, Hungarian, Spanish, French and German.

The developer sums up the benefit as fewer guesses, easier mornings and a more comfortable baby. In practice that means opening the app before leaving, glancing at the suggestion for the current reading and at the next twelve hours, and dressing the child accordingly, instead of relying on a quick look out of the window.

Version and requirements

The newest App Store notes celebrate added support for German, Spanish and French, aimed at parents who prefer to use the app in their own language. The app asks for iOS 15.6 or later, is free to download and has a 4+ rating. The changelog for this build says that the subscription wall is removed and nothing else is changed.
