The App Store title is Heroes & Dragons: Tactical RPG, made by Banditos Studio and filed under Games with Strategy and Roleplaying as genres. The campaign moves chapter by chapter through a hand-drawn fantasy world, with new challenges and ancient secrets in every one, and allies who join your quest along the way. The writing aims for laughs, with witty dialogue, silly twists and colourful characters rather than a grim tone.

Battles are the tactical part. You place your heroes on the field, manage resources and look for enemy weaknesses. Hundreds of heroes have different abilities, enemies come in different types and the environment changes the options, which keeps two fights from feeling alike. Outside the campaign, Arena mode puts your team against other players, with leaderboards and exclusive rewards for those who climb.

The tone is the selling point. The developers describe the whole thing as a journey of courage, humour and strategy, and there is a Discord community for players to share stories and tactics.

The original game is free in the App Store, needs iOS 15.0 or later, carries a 9+ rating and has been available since February 2024. Recent release notes describe a Mystery Island vault where shards earned anywhere now count toward the vault.
