About The First Tree

The First Tree is built as third-person exploration by David Wehle, a one-person effort listed in the App Store under Games, Adventure and Family. It tells two stories that run in parallel. In one, a fox is trying to find her missing family. In the other, a son is trying to reconnect with his estranged father in Alaska.

You control the fox. Her path leads across open scenery toward the source of life itself, and along the way you can discover artifacts and memories belonging to the son, which slowly connect his world with hers. The developer is explicit that this is not a fox simulator but an intimate, emotional tale, and the finale is designed to stay with you.

There is no combat and no enemies. Progress comes from light puzzle solving and platforming, so the game suits players who want atmosphere and story over reflex challenges. The whole journey lasts about two hours.
