LoFiCam imitates old CCD digital cameras, and you can download the LoFiCam IPA for iPhone here and shoot with a look that belongs to the early 2000s. The App Store lists it as LoFi Cam: Film Digital Camera.

About LoFiCam

The app is made by PixelPunk Inc., sits under Photo and Video, and has been around since March 2022. Instead of a long list of anonymous filters, it offers cameras, each one modelled on a specific device or film stock with its own colour character and its own interface style.

The store spells out several of them. T10 has strong contrast and a retro operating-system feel for daily and landscape shots. FUJI follows the rich, punchy look of Classic Chrome. L80 nods to the Y2K phone era, with heavy noise and bright exposure that suits portraits and street scenes. F700 recalls Fuji NC film for nostalgic portraits and outdoor frames. SS22 is soft and low in contrast, meant for spring and summer. GR D is a black-and-white mode with contrast and grain, inspired by the Ricoh GR digital line. More cameras are added from time to time.

The import side matters as much as the viewfinder. Old pictures, clips and Live Photos can be refined later, so the app doubles as an editor for your existing archive. New cameras and features are promised from time to time, which keeps the collection growing.

Version, price and requirements

This is the same app as in the App Store, not a modified one. The store version is free to install, needs iOS 15.0 or later and has a 4+ rating, and it offers an annual subscription for unlimited access to everything sold inside. The most recent update adds a camera called 6800Z, whose fine grain and scan lines recall early low-resolution digital displays, as well as a new Photo Booth template.
