About Vinland Tales

The game is made by Colossi Games Ltd and is listed in the App Store as Vinland Tales: Viking Survival, under Games with the Roleplaying and Adventure tags. It has been available since November 2024 and has a 9+ rating. Its approach is intentionally casual. Rather than a hunger meter that forces constant attention, it uses a replenishable health pool, so a session can start with exploring instead of avoiding starvation.

The usual survival work is all there. You chop trees, hunt rabbits and deer, and mine stone and copper. Rescued clansmen arrive and settle as workers, and you assign them refining jobs, build houses and add wells and defensive structures, growing a first camp into a Viking village. Weapons come in many types, including clubs, swords, bows and spears, and can be upgraded and set with gems.

The setting leans on medieval history and myth. You follow the story of the explorer Leif Eriksson, face the armies of Ragnarok and bandit bosses, lay siege to strongholds held by other survivors, and build mining shafts and places of worship for Thor and Odin.

Version and recent updates

The changelog describes the two multipliers and nothing more. In the App Store the original Vinland Tales is free and runs on iOS 15.0 or newer. Version 1.3.0 added an Arena with waves from 1 to 120, treasure chests and a Workshop, a Jeweler's Workbench for rings and amulets with permanent bonuses, a stats system with new gear for villagers, and a reworked winter in which frostbite builds up gradually.
