About Temple Run 2

The game is made by Imangi Studios and has been in the App Store since January 2013, listed under Games with a 9+ rating. It is free to download and, as the store page points out, it also works without an internet connection. The rules are simple to learn: you swipe to turn at corners, jump over gaps, slide under obstacles and keep going for as long as you can survive.

What changes the feel of a run is the setting. Courses wind through lush jungle, along perilous cliffs, past fiery volcanoes and over snowy mountains, and each of them has its own hazards. Power-ups such as shields, coin magnets and speed boosts help you stay ahead of the danger, and the runners you unlock each come with an ability of their own and outfits you can customize. A leaderboard lets you measure your best distance against other players around the world.

The classic loop is to collect coins during runs and gems on the side, then spend both on characters and upgrades. That slow economy is exactly the part this build rewrites.

What is new in the original game

The App Store version requires iOS 15.0 or later. Its latest update takes the run to Mount Olympus with a brand-new map and a limited-time challenge for unlocking the legendary runner Hercules. Other additions are the fan favorites Sigur Chronos Time Beard and Zhao Yun, plus global challenges that pay out exclusive rewards.
