What is Idle Dino Zoo?

Idle Dino Zoo is a simulation by the studio Tech Tree Games LLC, filed under Games and Simulation and on the App Store since April 2020. It is a business sim with the constant tapping taken out: you open a park to visitors, buy prehistoric animals for it, and the gate income keeps arriving whether or not the phone is in your hand.

What you decide between sessions is how the zoo grows. Dinosaurs can be bought and sold, each one needs care, and the size of the herd has to be kept in check. An individual animal can be upgraded to improve its odds of surviving, and surplus animals can be sent to a trade post in return for gems. Decorations and rides dress up the grounds, so the park looks like a place people would actually visit.

The long game is about time away from the screen. Investments raise the dinosaur birth rate, and others stretch how many hours the park can run unattended, which changes how often you really need to check in. A list of achievements gives the whole routine something to aim at.

Version notes and requirements

The App Store notes for the latest release mention ten new alternate dino species and readiness for iOS 15, and the game asks for iOS 15.0 or later. It is free to download and carries a 4+ age rating, so it fits any player. The changelog of this build lists only the three additions above, which is all it changes.
