About Cooking Fever

Cooking Fever is a time-management game from Nordcurrent UAB, listed in the App Store as Cooking Fever: Restaurant Game under Games, Entertainment, Casual and Strategy. It has been in the store since August 2014, which makes it one of the long-running titles of its kind.

The game is built around locations. Each restaurant has a different menu and a different set of tools: desserts and fast food, then Indian and Chinese kitchens, and many more. Dishes are made from hundreds of ingredients, and the equipment list takes in coffee machines, rice cookers, pizza ovens and popcorn machines. The listing counts thousands of dishes, which gives plenty of variety to keep the work from becoming repetitive.

Between levels you reinvest. Earnings pay for decor to attract more clients and for upgrades that speed up the kitchen. You can also bake small treats, such as cookies or cupcakes, as extra gifts for customers, which the developer compares to the personal touch of a real restaurant.

Because the core idea is time management, the challenge is about order: which customer to serve first, which appliance to load next and when to spend on an upgrade. The developer jokes that the game is as addictive as a fever, and it also invites players to share their dishes with friends.
