What is Aerthlings?

The App Store title is AERTHLINGS, made by Modern Games Inc and rated 9+ in Games, Adventure and Action. It reached the App Store in February 2026. The story is deliberately silly: planet Aerth is shattered into floating chunks after the Moonlings, a band of mischievous gremlins, decide that colliding with it is a fine idea. The Aerthlings sleep through the disaster in deep cubernation and wake up stranded on our Earth.

Your job has two parts. You start on one chunk of Aerth and expand from there, exploring, chopping, smashing and crafting through survival challenges, and you rescue Aerthlings who barely remember what happened. At the same time the Moonlings keep turning up to steal gear and cause trouble, so tools and defences need to be built to protect what you own. The map contains different biomes, each with its own surprises.

The collection side connects to physical toys. Each Aerthling has a unique attack and a Mutaetion tree, and the game supports NFC-enabled figurines that can be scanned and traded with friends to earn evolution points. The latest update adds gifting of spare figures to other players, a bonus quest with a free digital Lilibud for scanning a new figure, and fixes for harvesting controls and the beta multiplayer feature.

Version and requirements

The game needs iOS 15.0 or later and is free to download. A network connection is required to play, so the multipliers apply only while you are online.
